Duchess of Hohenberg who was the wife of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. She and her husband were both assassinated in 1914, sparking World War I.
She was born in Bohemia to an aristocratic family, and she became a lady-in-waiting to the Archduchess Isabella, Duchess of Teschen, before she met Franz Ferdinand.
She was almost not permitted to marry Franz Ferdinand, because she was not a member of a ruling family at the time.
She and the Archduke had four children together.
Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna was assassinated only a few years later during the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia.
