National Football League executive who managed the New York Giants from 1998 until 2007. During the 1980s and early 1990s, he also managed the Baltimore Colts and the Cleveland Browns.
Early in his career, he worked as a sports journalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and The Boston Sun.
He worked in the Baltimore Colts' public relations department during the 1970s.
Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, he attended college at North Carolina's Wake Forest University.
He drafted Super Bowl-winning running back Brandon Jacobs to the New York Giants.
