Boxer nicknamed "El Bandido" who held the WBC super featherweight title from 2015 and 2017. Additionally, he has held NABF and WBO International super featherweight titles and represented Mexico at the Olympic Games.
He grew up in Mexico City and became a 9-time Mexican amateur champion.
His fight against Takashi Miura was named ESPN's Fight of the Year for 2015. His fight against Orlando Salido the following year received the same honor.
