Gary Evan Stevenson

About

Religious leader and former business executive known for being a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for being a former Presiding Bishop for the church. He is also known for being a former CEO and co-founder of ICON Health & Fitness.

Before Fame

He served a young adult mission to Japan. He co-founded ICON Health & Fitness in 1977. He graduated from Utah State University with a business degree in 1979. He was called as a General Authority Seventy in 2008 and began focusing on serving the LDS Church full-time. He served as the Church's Presiding Bishop from 2012-2015. He was elected to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in October 2015.

Trivia

He is known for giving certain talks and speeches including "Your Four Minutes," "Sacred Homes, Sacred Temples," "Where Are the Keys and Authority of the Priesthood?," "Look to the Book, Look to the Lord," "Spiritual Eclipse," and "Love, Share, Invite." He has dedicated and attended multiple temple milestones in Japan including the Okinawa Japan Temple in 2023.

Family Life

He grew up in northern Utah. He married Lesa Jean Higley in April 1979. They have four sons together.
