Indian Malayalam film actor and former naval officer known for becoming one of the first true action superstars in Malayalam cinema through his work in over 100 films including Sarapanjaram, Puthiya Velicham, Manushya Mrugam, and Angadi.
Before Fame
He served as an officer in the Indian Navy before entering the film industry. His official acting career began around 1972 when he appeared in the film Kalpana. His big break was starring in Sarapanjaram in 1979.
Trivia
He appeared in over 100 films in under a decade. He was famous for performing his own stunts including extremely risky aerial and fight sequences. His death during the filming of Kolilakkam is one of the most well-documented and discussed on-set stunt fatalities in Indian film history.
Family Life
He was born Krishnan Nair. He was born in present day Kerala, India. His parents were Madhavan Pillai and Bharathiyamma. He died when he was 41 years old on November 16th, 1980, following a helicopter stunt accident during the filming of Kolilakkam.
