Teen suicide victim who rose to prominence after her untimely death was used as the basis for two of the late rapper Xxxtentacion's songs. "Garette's Revenge" and "Jocelyn Flores" were both about and dedicated to the young woman.
She was originally from the Bronx, but also spent a significant amount of her childhood in a Cleveland suburb. After the death of her father and molestation suffered at the hands of a family member, Flores suffered from mental illness that manifested in several suicide attempts. Her first came at the age of 12.
She met XXXTentacion online and he flew her to Florida to meet him shortly before her suicide. She ended her life at a Hampton Inn after the rapper kicked her out of his house for fighting with another woman he'd invited to stay.
She was survived by her brother, her mother and stepfather as well as an aunt and uncle with whom she was very close.
