Before fame
He began playing football as a youth. He attended Westgate High School, where he played both football and track. He became one of the most celebrated recruits in the state of Louisiana while he was in high school. He was selected to play in the 2020 Under Armour All-America Game and was rated as a four-star recruit by major scouting outlets. He committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) and joined the Tigers in 2020. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He made his debut with the New England Patriots in September 2023.
Trivia
He was named a 2020 Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC. He recorded 14 receptions for 308 yards and three touchdowns against Ole Miss in December 2020 which set LSU's single-game receiving yards record. He has spoken publicly about overcoming a gambling problem and described it as a turning point in his personal growth.
