Australian featherweight who has risen to fame for his career competing internationally, including for Australia at the 2012 Olympic Games as a team captain. He won a bronze medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and finished in the top 16 in the 2010 games.
He won a boxing scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport. He didn't start boxing until he was 18-years-olds.
He has held the WBA Oceania and WBO Oriental championship belts. He has also earned the Australian featherweight belt.
He was originally born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
He lost his first professional boxing bout against Carl Frampton in August 2018.
