South African pop and Afrikaans singer, songwriter, radio host, and television personality known for hosting Breakfast with Martin Bester on Jacaranda FM and for his music career that includes the album Vir Die Eerste Keer and songs such as "Lilly," "Boerepop," "Vuur en Vlamme," "Konings," "Anders," "Sterre," "Bietjie Asseblief," "Brannewyn," "Vir Die Liefde," and "Forever Summer."

Before fame

He studied at the University of Port Elizabeth where he began his career in broadcasting by working at the campus radio station. His early experience in radio led to a professional role at Algoa FM which is where he developed his on-air presence before moving to Jacaranda FM which helped launch his national fame. He was part of the rock band Kinky Robot in the early 2010s and served as lead vocalist before he began pursuing a solo career. He released his debut solo album Vir Die Eerste Keer in November 2016. He began hosting Breakfast with Martin Bester on Jacaranda FM in 2017.

Trivia

His show won Best Breakfast Show at the Telkom Radio Awards in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. He won Breakfast Show Presenter in 2019 and again in 2025. He is passionate about animal welfare and has been involved in charity initiatives such as Woofstock and Jacaranda FM's Good Morning Angels which raises funds for people in need. He has also appeared in television and film projects such as Pretville, Vrou soek boer, and Sonskyn Beperk, as well as kykNET programs including Lekker Bester and Lekker Sport.

He was born in Bethal, Mpumalanga, South Africa, and grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
