R&B vocalist who gained fame as the lead vocalist of The Supremes, which was Motown Records' prime act during the 1960s. They released twelve #1 singles, including "Baby Love."
She signed with Motown Records at age seventeen as a member of The Primettes, which later became The Supremes.
She made a musical comeback in 2013 with the release of "Life's Been Good to Me."
Her family moved around a lot when she was a child, and she lived with her aunt and uncle for much of the time. She married Pedro Ferrer, with whom she had three children.
She performed with Diana Ross on The Supremes, until she eventually left the group in 1979.
