Péter Magyar

Hungarian lawyer, politician, and former insider of the ruling party Fidesz who became the president of the Tisza (Respect and Freedom) Party in July 2024. That same year, he was also elected as a Member of the European Parliament. 

Before Fame

He attended Pázmány Péter Catholic University, where he studied law. He also attended Humboldt University, where he spent time as an Erasmus student. Prior to joining the European Parliament, he held several governmental roles. He worked in foreign affairs, legal directorates, state boards, and in state-affiliated companies.

Trivia

He has earned recognition for his strong social media presence, which has been described as "an important part of his appeal." On his magyarpeterofficial TikTok account alone, he boasts over 320,000 followers.

Family Life

He was previously married to Hungary's former Justice Minister, Judit Varga until they announced their divorce in 2023. Together, they have three sons. His grandfather was a judge. His great-uncle Ferenc Mádl was President of Hungary from 2000 to 2005.
