Centre and fly-half for Australia from 1993 to 1997 who won a championship with the Leicester Tigers, and eventually became head coach of the Tigers.
He studied Pharmacology at the University of Queensland and was given the prestigious University of Queensland Sporting Scholarship.
He coached the Leicester Tigers to the Guinness Premiership and EDF Energy Cup finals in 2007, winning both.
His father, Jake Howard, played prop for Australia.
