Most notable for his playing career with the Brisbane Bears in the Victorian Football League, he also spent time with Collingwood and Richmond in his career before becoming an assistant coach for several clubs.
He made his VFL debut in 1983 as a wingman with Collingwood.
He became the head coach of the Adelaide Football Club for the 2015 season when he was tragically found dead by murder.
His son Cy was charged for his murder in July of 2015. He was married to Meredith Walsh.
He played for the Brisbane Bears like Michael Voss did for a short time.
