Azerbaijani pop singer, known mononymously as "Safura," who cultivated a loyal following after she won the eighth season of Azerbaijan's Pop Idol in 2009. She subsequently represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 with her single, "Drip Drop," ultimately placing 5th in the Grand Final.

Before Fame

She began singing when she was only 3 years old before giving her first public performance at the age of 6. She attended Baku Musical School No. 2, where she studied violin, before also learning to play the saxophone and performing in various children's ensembles. She went on to attend Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts before she moved to Sweden to launch her professional career.

Trivia

Following the Eurovision Song Contest, she released her debut album, "It's My War," in 2010 before going on to again compete in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, 2012, and 2025.

Family Life

She was born to a painter father and a mother who was both a pianist and a fashion designer. She married Farhad Aliyev in 2013 and they went on to welcome three children together.
