Though she is also known for her Sasha series of children's books, this Malaysian writer is perhaps most famous for her Inspector Singh Investigates crime novels.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge and before becoming a full-time writer, she was an attorney with a law firm called Linklaters, and she also taught at the National University of Singapore's Law School.
As suggested by their titles (i.e., Sasha Visits the Botanic Gardens and Sasha Visits Hong Kong), many of her children's books encourage environmental and cultural awareness among young readers.
She grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and later settled in Singapore with her husband Simon Flint and her two children.
She and fellow Malaysian-Singaporean author Catherine Lim both published novels with social themes.
