Shamsher Singh

About

Professional field hockey player who played as a forward in the Indian national team. He made his international debut for the national senior team at the 2019 Men's Ready Steady Tokyo Hockey Tournament. In the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won a silver medal with the national team. 

Before Fame

At the age of eleven, he was enrolled in the Surjit Singh Hockey Academy. In 2016, he played for the Indian Men's Junior Team during the 4 Nations Invitational Tournament held in Valencia, Spain. 

Trivia

In the 2021 Men's Asian Champions Trophy, he won a bronze medal with the Indian national team. In the same year, he was awarded the Arjuna Award for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games by the Former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.  

Family Life

He has a brother named Harjot Singh.
