Before Fame
She started her career as an actress when she was only a child in 1992, making her debut in the Tamil film Rickshaw Mama. She then made her Telugu debut in 1997 in the film Rukmini.

She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Tamil Language Film at the Filmfare Awards in 2004 for her role as Julie in Priyamana Thozhi.

She was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Her parents are fellow Tamil actors Vijayakumar and Manjula.
