About

Former professional soccer forward turned manager who has become known for heading the Australian women's national team, as well as other women's soccer teams including Degerfors IF and GIF Sundsvall. He famously served as assistant coach to Pia Sundhage for the United States women's soccer team, which he helped earn a 2012 Olympic gold medal and world championships in both 2015 and 2019.

Before Fame

He spent his on-field youth career playing for Söröje IF until he was signed to IFK Sundsvall in 1989. He then went on to play for the Orlando Lions, Stockviks FF, FC Café Opera, Ytterhogdals IK, IK Brage, Degerfors IF, and Åtorps IF before commencing his managerial career in the early 2000s.

He helped The Matildas, Australia's national women's team, earn their best-ever finishes at both the 2020 Olympic Summer Games and the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
