He played junior rugby for the Gerringong Lions. He attended Kiama High School. He graduated high school and played for the St George Illawarra Dragons before he joined the Melbourne Storm in 2022.

He enjoys surfing. He is a dog owner. He received the "Billy Slater Rookie of the Year" award in 2022.

He was born and raised in Gerringong, New South Wales, Australia. He is the son of former professional rugby player Rod Wishart.
