Sri Lankan pop, R&B and jazz singer who gained popularity in 2020 with her hit single "Manda Pama" that reached 10 million views in a short time. She is also known as a judge on the reality show The Voice Sri Lanka. Her Instagram account umariaofficial has earned over 750,000 followers. 

Before Fame

She began her music career at age 11 in 2005, performing with her sister at various stages. She studied at Muslim Ladies College and Gateway International school. 

Trivia

She is the youngest musician to ever be awarded A-Grade by Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. She has won the 'Kala Keerthi Abhimani' award for her contribution to Sri Lanka's music industry.

Family Life

Her birth name is Umaria Binthy Ayesha Sinhawansa. She is the daughter of Tony Sinhawansa and Ayesha Sinhawansa. She has two older brothers, Subandrio, and Hharthono. Her older sister is Umara Sinhawansa. Her grandmother Rani Perera, was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema. She is also a granddaughter of the late songstress and actress Rukmani Devi.
