Brazilian mixed martial artist and jiu-jitsu practitioner known for defeating Royce Gracie by clock choke in a 1998 jiu-jitsu competition. He also fought in the UFC and Pride.
He started training in the sport when he was only 12 years old and began working with Carlson Gracie four years later. His first MMA fight came in 1991.
He's also known as Paraiba and finished his fighting career with a 9-3 record. He also founded Jungle Fight.
