Malaysian singer whose first album "Sensation", released in 1990 with her band Aishah and The Fan Club, had three top-20 singles - "Sensation", "Paradise" and "Call Me". She went on to release over a dozen solo albums after leaving The Fan Club.
She studied political science at Auckland University in New Zealand, where she formed her band. She graduated with master's degree in 1996.
She became involved in politics in 2011 when she joined the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party. She held a seat in parliament from 2011 to 2013.
Her first son, Armand Azhari, was born in 1993, and her second, Azhad Ahlami, was born in 1998.
Alyah is also a prominent pop singer from Malaysia.
