Urban planner, educator, painter, and sculptor who designed the Rising Core House, a housing development for low-income families, which was emulated in Vietnam as the Tube House and other areas around the world, such as Rio de Janeiro, Mexico, Colombia, Nigeria, and Indonesia.
He was a gifted painter as a child and won numerous competitions, including the ASEAN Exhibition of Children's Art in 1984 and 1985. He did his graduate work in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2010.
He began teaching at the Mapua Institute of Technology in 2001.
His father, Isabelo P. Zambrano, was a draughtsman and technical drawing teacher, and his mother, Rosalinda L. Santos, was a humanities and English teacher.
He was born in the same country as Lou Diamond Phillips.
