About
Ecuadorian American swimmer, Olympian, and model known for competing for Ecuador at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is also known for having broken multiple Ecuadorian national records, capturing gold in the 100m freestyle at the 2021 South American Swimming Championships, and for competing at the World Aquatics Championships, Pan American Games, and numerous international meets.
Before fame
She trained with Evolution Swim Academy which her father founded. She attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School where she became a standout sprinter and helped the team set a national high school relay record. She represented Ecuador at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships and other international meets before committing to swim at the University of Southern California. She represented Ecuador in both the 50m and 100m freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and set national records in both events.
Trivia
She once skipped the NCAA Championships to race at the South American Championships where she went on to win 100m freestyle gold and secure her Olympic qualification. She has also worked professionally as a fashion model and signed with No Ties Models. She has built a social media following highlighting her dual career in sport and modeling.
Family life
She was born in Shakopee, Minnesota and grew up in Laguna Hills, California. She comes from a swimming family, and her father Felipe Delgado is a two-time Olympic swimmer who represented Ecuador in 1996 and 2000.
