A German singer and songwriter, she rose to prominence in Europe when she performed for Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015.
After completing her schooling in Hamburg, Germany, she moved to New York to study at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She released her first single "Get Over Yourself" in 2012.
She was offered the spot of Germany's representation at the Eurovision Song Contest after another artist declined to go.
She was born in London to German parents. They moved back to Germany when she was very young and she grew up there.
