Aron Winter

About

Former defensive midfielder that played professionally in the Netherlands and Italy for 16 years. He was also given the honor of playing for the Dutch national team for 13 years. Shortly after retiring, he began coaching in 2005. 

Before Fame

He first began playing soccer as a young child growing up. He initially joined VV Unicum's youth club in 1975. 

Trivia

During his international career, he played in 1990, 1994, and 1998 World Cups. After scoring a goal against Brazil during the 1994 World Cup, he became the first player of Indian descent to score in a World Cup game. 

Family Life

He is a native of the Paramaribo, Suriname area.
