Republican politician who became the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 8th congressional district in 2011. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Legislative Leadership Award from the American Cancer Society, as well as the Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services Star of Life Legislative Award.
He graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance before becoming a member of the Georgia House of Representatives at the age of 26.
He walked more than 1,000 miles around the state in his Walk of Georgia in 2009.
He has a son, Wells, with his wife Vivien.
