Before fame
She showed musical talent at a very young age. She passed the entrance exam for the TRT Radio Children's Choir when she was 8 years old. She received her first electric guitar when she was 14 years old which led her to begin writing her own songs. She attended Türk Eğitim Derneği Ankara Koleji where she performed live music in bars during her school years. She then studied American Culture and Literature at Başkent University in Ankara. She continued her education at Istanbul University and studied radio, television, and cinema. She began her professional creative career as a writer before becoming widely known as a musician. She published her first short story collection Kalemimin Ucundaki Düşler in 1998 several years before releasing her first album. She released her debut studio album Küçük Şarkı Evreni in 2006.
Trivia
She gained mainstream popularity after releasing "Kiralık Aşk (Sen misin İlacım?)" in 2015 which became associated with the hit Turkish TV series Kiralık Aşk. She released the live project Evden Canlı Canlı, Vol. 2 in 2020 during the pandemic era. Her song "Yalnızlık Masalı" was used as the opening theme for the show Benim Adım Melek in 2019.
Family life
She was born and raised in Kütahya, Turkey. Her mother Faika Özer is a writer and poet. She married violinist and musician Utku Barış Andaç in 2018.
