Before Fame
He began playing rugby as a young preteen. He attended St. Alban's College in Pretoria and demonstrated a great talent for playing rugby for the school. He was selected for the South African Schools team in 2009. He attended Tshwane University of Technology and played for the TUT Vikings. He debuted professionally in 2012 with the Blue Bulls and played for them both the Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup. He transferred to the Stormers in 2015 before eventually playing for the Springboks.
