Before fame
He was involved in bands and music projects from a young age, and developed an interest in songwriting, pop melodies, and unconventional production techniques. He co-founded TV Girl as a music duo in 2010 with his friend Trung Ngo. They released a couple of early EPS and a mixtape before Trung Ngo left the duo in 2013. He found new members for TV Girl and the band reformed in 2013. He and TV Girl released the album French Exit in 2014 before they released their breakthrough album Who Really Cares in February 2016. He and TV Girl then released Death of a Party Girl in 2018. He and TV Girl experienced a major resurgence beginning in 2022 when older songs gain popularity on TikTok.
