He was considered a three-star prospect while at Sparkman High School. At the time, he was ranked a top 100 player in the state of Alabama.

While playing in the 2025 Senior Bowl, he caught an interception on Tyler Shough. Their draft pick numbers were exactly 48 spots apart. He stands five feet, 11 inches tall and weighs just shy of 200 pounds. During college, in his first two seasons with the Trojans in 2021 and 2022, Ransaw appeared in 21 games and totaled 30 tackles and three pass deflections.
