Spanish conductor and countertenor who has become particularly known for his recordings of legendary composers like Johann Sebastian Bach.
He received formal musical training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Spain.
In 2002, he won a Diapason d'Or for his recital of De Aeternitate.
His elder brother, Juanjo Mena, is also a conductor.
While studying at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, he was trained by Ghent conductor Rene Jacobs.
