Known as the Stocking Strangler, he brutally raped and strangled several women between the ages of 40 and 90 in the 1970s. He would eventually be executed on March 15, 2018.
He was convicted of fire bombing a grocery store as a teenager.
He was scheduled to be executed in 2009, but his execution was delayed due to appeals based on DNA testing that confirms his guilt on some charges and refutes it on another.
His mother and aunt worked as housekeepers for older, wealthy white women, which may be how he developed a hatred for that group of people.
He shares the same home state as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
