Defensive tackle who rose to widespread fame for his prolific career playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He finished his junior and final season in 2017-2018 as the defensive MVP in both the Sugar Bowl and National Championship game, which he won as a member of the Crimson Tide.
He was rated as a five-star recruit at the conclusion of his high school football career. He finished his freshman season at Alabama on the freshman All-America team.
He was named to the All SEC first team in 2017. He was a highly touted NFL prospect after forgoing his senior season at Alabama prior to the 2018 NFL Draft.
He was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.
He and Tua Tagovailoa finished as co-MVP's after winning the 2018 National Championship game for Alabama.
