She and guitarist Matt Bond formed The Dirty Youth in 2007 after they met at a music festival.

The official music video for the single "Fight" earned upwards of 5 million views after it was posted to YouTube in 2011.

Her boyfriend Mike Hughes worked as a journalist and news reader for Nation Radio.
