Dutch pop and levenslied singer, media personality, and reality TV show star known for being the patriarch of one of the Netherlands' most recognizable reality TV families and known for his hit single "Ik Kom Eraan (Route du Soleil)."

Before Fame

He had an interest in singing and music from a young age. He began releasing albums in the early 1990s.  He released his hit song "Ik Kom Eraan (Route du Soleil)" in 2007. He appeared in the film I Love Dries in 2008. He began appearing on the reality show De Roelvinkjes in 2015 as the father figure. His show was renewed in 2023.

Trivia

His "I Love Dries" Ahoy concert planned for January 2008 was canceled in Nov 2007 after sponsor troubles and finances. It is still referenced in Dutch media as part of his lore. He has gone viral on TikTok for suave clips of him being poured wine in fancy settings which are often set to Julio Iglesias's "Me Olvidé de Vivir."

Family Life

His full name is Andries Roelvink. He grew up in the Jordaan, the historic working-class quarter of Amsterdam, Netherlands. His sons Dave and Donny grew up in the spotlight and co-star with him in De Roelvinkjes.
