Before fame

She began playing basketball at a young age. She attended and played basketball for Adolfo Camarillo High School until graduating in 2022. She committed to UCLA in 2021 and began playing for the Bruins in fall 2022. She made her senior debut for Mexico in August 2024 at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup pre-qualifying tournament. She helped lead UCLA to its first NCAA Final Four in 2025. She then played a major role in UCLA winning the 2026 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. 

Trivia

She briefly played for the UCLA softball team in 2024. She won the Rising Star award at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup. She was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team in 2026. She was included on the Cheryl Miller Award midseason watch list in 2026.

Family life

She was born and raised in Irvine, California. She is the daughter of Angela Sather Jaquez and Jaime Jaquez Sr. who both played college basketball at Concordia University. She is the younger sister of Jaime Jaquez Jr. who starred at UCLA before going on to play in the NBA. She also has a younger brother named Marcos who has played football.

She has been teammates at UCLA with Kiki Rice who shared co-MVP honors with her at the 2022 McDonald's All-American Game. She has also played alongside Lauren Betts as part of UCLA's national championship winning team.
