Haku

About

Mexican artist and illustrator who became an Instagram star known as Haku. She has designed work for the popular video game Gears of War Ultimate Edition as well as collaborated with the heavy metal band Slipknot, among others.

Before Fame

She studied integral design at the Design School of the National Institute of Fine Arts and later dropped out to become a full-time artist.

She has grown in popularity on Instagram with over 80,000 followers and counting.

Family Life

She was born Mariana Villanueva, but is better known as Haku on Instagram. She always had an interest in art growing up due to her parents' background and attended numerous art expositions and workshops as a kid. She lost her father at the age of 16.

She has worked with the band Slipknot, which was founded by artists Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray.
