American journalist, columnist, and editor who is best recognized for his written work often published in the ThinkProgress Justice press outlet for which he is also the editor. He is known for having written several books including Injustices: The Supreme Court's History of Comforting the Comfortable and Afflicting the Afflicted.
He originally earned his JD from Duke University. He then started his career as a clerk for Judge Eric L. Clay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He first joined Twitter in March of 2009 and quickly his articles appeared in press outlets such as The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Nation.
He is also known for his work as a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress.
He was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia.
