Before Fame

He started to get into comic book writing after winning a Marvel talent search in 2001. He quickly became one of their best writers with his writing appearing in Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher. 

Trivia

His 2015 Star Wars series became the best selling comic book in more than 20 years. He had a seven year run writing for Thor and did Jane The Mighty Thor. The film Thor: Love and Thunder was mainly based on his writing work in the comics. 

Family Life

He was born in Jasper, Alabama, but lives in Kansas City, Missouri. Gustav Hasford is his cousin.

He wrote for a comic called Thanos Rising, who was played by Josh Brolin in the Marvel films.
