Author who has gained fame for her writings on history and romance, including in her debut 2015 book It Ended Badly: Thirteen of the Worst Breakups in History. She has also worked as political editor-at-large for Harper's BAZAAR, and contributed as a sex and dating columnist to the New York Post.

She earned her bachelor's degree from St. John's College in Maryland.

She founded the now-defunct website TheGloss.com. She had her second book Get Well Soon: History's Worst Plagues in 2017.

She married her husband Daniel in August 2017.
