Decorated American Brigadier General who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1912-1946. He fought in both World War I and World War II.
At the start of his military career, he served in both Mexico and Haiti, taking part in the U.S. Occupations of Velacruz and Port-au-Prince.
For his service in World War I, he received numerous military honors, including the Purple Heart, the Silver Star, and the Distinguished Service Cross.
He grew up in Syracuse, New York. He died in Oceanside, California just a few months shy of his 101st birthday.
He and Lou Diamond both served in the U.S. Marine Corps during both World Wars.
