Former NCAA All-American that played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin, the University of Missouri and Colorado State University from 2019 until 2025. During his lone year at Wisconsin, he was named a member of the first team All-Big Ten. Following that season, he was taken by the Utah Jazz as a second rounder.

He is Omaha Central High School's all-time leader in points scored. As a senior, he lost in the Nebraska state championship game.

He once scored 41 points in a game, which is a Wisconsin single game record. In his final college game, he scored 37 points in the NCAA March Madness tournament which is also a Wisconsin program record.

He grew up living with his parents and his two brothers. His father, Jean, played soccer for the Cameroonian men's national team.
