Sommelier of the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, voted Best in the World by Restaurant Magazine in 2013. He and his co-owning brothers, Joan and Jordi, won their Third Michelin Star in 2009.
He grew up in a family that owned a restaurant and bar. It served classic Catalan cooking to an average class of people.
He appeared in the 2015 documentary Cooking Up A Tribute. He has 50,000 followers on his joseppituroca Instagram account.
His parents are Montserrat Fontané and Josep Roca.
He and chef Jordi Cruz are both from Spain.
