Anglo-Irish actress who appeared on stage and in several productions, including the 1963 film Tom Jones.
She grew up in County Mayo, Ireland and studied with a private governess until she was accepted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
She was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the 1963 adventure comedy film Tom Jones.
She married Charles Wynne Roberts in 1949 and they had three children.
She appeared in the 1968 film Prudence and the Pill, starring Deborah Kerr.
