She enrolled in the journalism faculty at the St. Petersburg Institute of Humanities but realized she wanted to act instead. She pursued acting by enrolling in the St. Petersburg Academy of Performing Arts and completed her training in 2015. Her breakthrough came in 2019 when she was cast as the lead in the Ukrainian series Love in Chains.

Her full name is Ekaterina Leonidovna Kovalchuk. She was born and raised in Syktyvkar, in Komi Republic, Russia. She grew up with her mother and only met her father when she was 17 years old. She has a sister named Anna. She married Garik Kharlamov in 2024.
