Dutch journalist, television presenter, and investigative filmmaker best known for confronting scammers and exposing fraud on camera on his show Kees van der Spek: Oplichters Aangepakt. He is also known for his Instagram account @keesvanderspek where he shares behind-the-scenes moments of his work with over 430,000 followers.
Before fame
He began his career in journalism in 1989 working for a regional newspaper in the Netherlands. He worked in various production roles on Peter R. de Vries, misdaadverslaggever from 1995-2012 helping uncover criminal networks and cold cases. He then worked on developing his own shows. He launched Kees van der Spek: Oplichters Aangepakt in 2019 which quickly became his signature show.

He has appeared on reality and entertainment shows such as Expeditie Robinson in 2015 and Wie is de Mol? in 2024. He once competed in drag on national television.
