NBA center known for his tough defense. He played for the Boston Celtics from 2003 to 2011, winning an NBA Championship with the team in 2008. From 2015 to 2016, he played for the New Orleans Pelicans.
He helped lead Clifton J. Ozen High School's basketball team to a Texas state championship and four district championships; he averaged 27.5 points, 16.4 rebounds and 7.8 blocks his senior year.
He was selected 27th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, then traded immediately after the selection to the Celtics.
He married Vanity Alpough in 2009. They have one son, Kendrick Perkins II.
He was teammates with Kevin Garnett on the Celtics.
