Also known as MC Papo, he was part of the merengue and hip hop duo Sandy & Papo. They became known for the house song "El Mueve Mueve" ("I Like to Move It") as well as a track called "Huelepega" which served to promote a Venezuelan film of the same name.
He and Sandy came together during the rise of the merenhouse/house-merengue/merengue-hip hop rhythm movement in New York. They formed in 1995.
He died in a car accident. His partner Sandy revived his own career as a solo artist with a song called "Homenaje a Papo."
