About

Alabama native who gained national attention after surviving a severe shark attack in June 2024, resulting in the traumatic loss of her left hand and right leg through amputation. After 77 days hospitalized, which included extensive surgeries and rehabilitation, she adapted to living with prosthetic limbs and miraculously returned to activities such as golf, surfing, and skiing. Additionally, she founded the Lulu Strong Foundation to offer support and resources to children and families navigating the challenges of traumatic injuries. She also became a symbol of hope to people around the world, including the 60,000 followers on her lulu.gribbin Instagram account, by showcasing her remarkable resilience and unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.

Before Fame

As a child, she was passionate about sports and participated in volleyball, basketball, and golf. She became involved in junior programs and tournaments at her local country club at a young age. 

Trivia

In May 2025, she played a key role in the passage of Lulu's Law in Alabama, which allows the Emergency Management Agencies of Mobile and Baldwin Counties to send mobile shark attack alerts directly to phones in targeted areas, as well as to on-duty first responders.

Family Life

She and her twin sister, Ellie, were born to parents Joe and Ann Blair.
